its been a couple days
I took a "sick" day today.....Lex had a fever last night and was a miserable clingy mess. Today she was a little less miserable still had a fever....took 2 naps and was barely eating. but she did drink some juice and milk so that is good. Hopefully she will be happier tomorrow if she still has the fever we will be off to the doctor. I really hope its only teethin, but apparently there is a ton of crap going around.
Benners is at a volleyball game with R tonight. Not thrilled about it cause its kind of late and crappy (still) out. She cracks me up. Today she faught me on taking a nap..... NOOOOOOOO MOMMY I NO TAKE NAP....I dont wanna take nap. 2 minutes later she was out cold. When she woke up the first thing she said to me was I dont want to take nap. I was like honey you just woke up.....too funny.
An update on T. He has been scheduled for his surgery on October 19th. T s MRI shows a pretty involved malformation on the right side, and the left side looks smaller than the right side, but doesn't appear to have any malformations or problems that would make them think that the seizures are highly active or likely to occur on the left side. The other tests show the right side is the are that is malformed, and the left side is looking good. The only showing the left side is involved is his EEGs.
The reasoning behind the hemispherectomy is to remove the side that has the malformation. When ever he has a seizure, the right side is fully involved. When they see activity on the left side, it immediately jumps to the right side and activates it. So their hope is that if they remove the active side (being the right side) that they will eliminate some (hopefully all or most) or his seizures, and also reduce the severity of them. If after surgery he still has seizures coming from the left side, they are hoping that they are small enough that meds can control them. They are also hoping that if we can cut his seizures down in quantity and severity that he will have more of a chance of living a somewhat normal life.
K and I are going up to Boston next weekend to do some flower girl dress shopping for the wedding we are both in, in April. Lex will be staying with the inlaws. R will be down in Florida with a buddy to golf. So hopefully we will be able to go up to the hospital to see them.
